Prior to Registration

  • Check your students’ Crescendo Points Records. You will be given a list of your students and their points totals. Mark those who should be removed and indicate the reason (graduated, moved, discontinued lessons). It is to your advantage to complete this step, as you will choose from this list when registering your returning students.
  • Submit Teacher Change Request if you have a transfer student with previous points. You must submit this request a week prior to registration, so that the student’s name will appear on your list by the registration deadline.

Registration

  • Enter teacher information
  • Indicate work preferences: morning/afternoon/all day, job. See Job Descriptions
  • For each student, choose “new” or “returning.”
    • For new student, type in first and last names.
    • For returning student, select from list of students.
    • If the student is a transfer student who already has points listed under another teacher, submit a request to have the records transferred to your name. Remember to submit a Transfer Request at least a week before the registration deadline.
  • Enter student information: grade, level, current year of study, repertoire, and time lengths of repertoire.
  • Choose whether the audition is in-person or virtual.
  • When finished entering students, you will have the opportunity to mark siblings to be scheduled together or to mark students with special needs.
  • On the summary page, review teacher information, student information, and marked siblings. Make corrections if necessary.
  • Choose method of payment:
    • Pay on-line through PayPal. This method is safe and secure. You will be taken to the PayPal web site where you can complete the transaction. Make ONE payment for all students. We are not set up to accept multiple payments.
    • Send a check to the CMTA Treasurer. Print a copy of the page and send it along with your check. Then you must click FINISH to complete your registration and to receive an e-mail confirmation.
  • Your e-mail confirmation will list students, their information and repertoire, and any requests to schedule siblings together.

After Registration

  • You will receive an e-mail listing your students’ audition times, as well as notification of your Achievement Day work assignment.
  • Review the job description for your assigned duty.

Achievement Day

  • Report to your assigned work station.
  • Please pick up your packet at the end of the day or make arrangements for someone to take your packet so that you can pick it up from them. Teachers will not be able to come into the records room; however, packets will be sent out to be checked as soon as they are available.

After Achievement Day

  • You will receive an e-mail with your students’ results attached as a PDF file.
  • If you have students chosen to perform on the Honors Recital, you must sign in to the site by Tuesday to submit their information. Select the composition each student will perform or indicate “Will not be able to perform.” Completing this process will greatly expedite printing of the recital program.
  • If you have students receiving Crescendo Award trophies, you should pick them up at the Honors Recital or make arrangements for someone to pick them up for you.

Passwords

  • In order to protect the privacy of our member teachers and their students, we require a password to access student information. You will need to enter this password to check Crescendo Points, register students, and enter Honors Recital information.
  • All CMTA members have been assigned an initial password. You will be sent the password by e-mail prior to registration.
  • You may change your password at any time.
  • If you forget your password, you may request that it be sent to you by e-mail.

Level Classification

  • The student’s level is determined according to the grade in school and the current year of study. A grid is provided to assist you in the proper placement of the levels A through J. Students may be placed at a higher level than the grid indicates at the teacher’s discretion. Students may NOT be marked down to lower levels, and must enter at the same level for all categories.
  • Year of study refers to the current year, not the number of years of previous study. Just as a student is in year 1 of school when he is in the first grade, a student is in year 1 of study during the first year.
