Membership
Membership in CMTA is open to all persons concerned with high standards of music teaching and whose objectives are compatible with those of the organization. All members of CMTA must also hold membership in the South Carolina Music Teachers Association and the Music Teachers National Association.
Categories
- Active members (persons professionally engaged in any field of musical activity) may participate in all activities of the organization, vote, hold office, and receive publications, including SCMTA NewsNotes and the American Music Teacher, the official journal of MTNA.
- Patron members (businesses who have an interest in furthering the mission of CMTA) receive publications, but do not have the right to vote or to hold office.
- Student members (music students throught the age of 26 who are currently involved in regular music study) may attend all meetings of the organization, but do not have the right to vote or to hold office.
Dues
Local, state, and national dues are paid directly to MTNA. New members can join at all three levels (local, state, and national) in one process. Dues must be received by October 15 in order for members to participate in Achievement Day, master-classes, and other local student-related activities.
